UPDATE: Marking a facebook event as cancelled completely deletes the event. We now have no way to contact the 500+ listed attendees to inform them that the event has been cancelled. Please do anything you can to help us make sure that everybody knows the event has been cancelled to avoid unnessecary travel-this day just gets worse and worse...

This afternoon event organisers were informed that due to section 9 of the Licensing Act 1997 the Great Friday Festival 2012 cannot go ahead. While we emphasised that this legislation has never been brought to our attention in relation to this event before, we are bound to operate within the law.

We would like to express our sincerest apologies to all event organisers, artists, volunteers, sponsors and attendees. We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and help in putting this festival together.

For our part we are completely crushed, having poured or hearts and souls into this event over the past number of weeks

The thirty euro tickets price will be refunded online over the coming days.

Great Friday Inc has been sanctioned to provide you with government approved audio entertainment. Our good friends in the national minstry in Brussels have very kindly removed some of the larger festivals from this years calender so that your choice in which festival to attend this year be made easier.

There are only a few rules; you will be watched at all times, anything you say or do is the sole and exclusive copyright property of Great Friday Inc, no protest of any form will be tolerated, overenjoyment of the event is forbidden, any recording of live performances is forbidden, Great Friday is not to be mocked, lampooned or otherwise jibed. In the event of an atendee failing to adhere to these rules they will be identified by Great Friday's secret service officials and removed from the event. Great Friday Inc reserves the right to transport offenders to a neutral venue where they will be interrogated and if necessary incarcerated untill such a time as Great friday Inc decides to bring charges, or continue not to bring charges, whatever.





It's a damning enditement of our times when we feel compelled to point out that the above is merely a part of the theatre that is, The Great Friday Festival!
